====================

Memberspeed Autoresponder plugin set up guide

===================
( To use with Member management module )

Note: It’s recommended that you should check with your hosting provider to see if they allow you to send mass mailing through your own domain. Many hosts are very strict, they may shut your account down if you send too many emails out.

1/ AR plugin===> Configuration===>General Setting

Fill in the correct setting for your domain.

Note: You need to contact your host to get the correct information. In general:

- sDomain==> put: yourdomain.com
-sPOP3Address===> mail.yourdomain.com

- sPOP3Password : (catch-all account password)
–sPOP3ServerPort: 110
- sPOP3Username ( catch-all account username )

2/AR plugin===> Configuration===>Cron Setting

Copy all cron commands to your server cron job section
( IMPORTANT: Confirm with your host to see if the command is correct for your server. Many times error occurs because Cron Path is different between host. So copy a cron command you see in your memberspeed site and email your host to double check. It will save you a lot of “cron headaches” later:)

3/List Manager===> Add list

Create a list, ex: free member, gold member
Fill in the info- which is pretty straight forward.

To use with Member management module, you may want to name each list
identical with each membership level.

    You have done another great tutorial here – thank you.

    I would also like to add that one of the most commonly asked question regarding e-mail is the username format expected by our servers.

    This is how it works:
    The username format user@yourdomain.com is required for all accounts except for the original default ‘catch all’ POP account.

    The username for this ‘catch all’ account is the same username used to access cpanel, ftp, or ssh. It is the username of your hosting account.

    Hope this helps! ;)

    Regards,
    Paul

    Thanks, Paul. Very helpful tip. What you said is true for most cpanel hosting.

    Regarding the username, I have seen this combination username+yourdomain.com as well.

    The pop3 mail address is vital. It’s not always the same format mail.yourdomain.com, especially on share hosting. Again, an email to host will clear all these.

    Thanks,

    Hi Nam
    I have a question about the built in autoresponder.

    I have a squeezepage with an opt-in form, that goes to my subscriber list. I have a free report for my visitors, if they subscribe.

    Now I don’t want my visitors to get the free report, unless they activate the activation link. This way I am sure they gave me a valid email. So when they opt in, they ony get a message telling them to check their email. All perfect!!!!

    When they click on the activation link, they get a “frame” saying thank you – your are now on my list , and then I get en 404 error page. If I on the list (subscribers,) set the doubleopt-in exit url, its shows right after they click the submit botton – meaning before they activated the activation link in their email.

    So I don’t set an exit url. I want that url to be displayed AFTER they have click their activation link in their email, but It seems that can’t be done or what ????

    Hope you cana answer this ?

    Best Wishes
    Tina

    Hi Tina,

    I have forwarded your question to tech support.
    Here is the answer:

    [ There are two option lists of Inbuilt AR.

    You can select the double optin option and mention the two site url name in both

    Double-Optout List Unsubscription Exit URL
    Subscription Exit URL.

    Now genetrate a subscription form, then after submitting the form you would be directed to the "Double-Optout List Unsubscription Exit URL" site url.

    Now check the mail and click on the confirmation mail, you would be directed on the "Subscription
    Exit URL" site page. ]

    Please let me know if it helps,

    Thanks
