Hello.
I'd like use Google's website Optimizer to do some A/B testing to try to improve some elements of the page and hopefully increase conversion.
Google says that you can use it with a CMS. Here is what they say on the site about it:
"If I use a content management system (CMS), can I use Website Optimizer?
Sure! Website Optimizer uses JavaScript tags to manage your experiment, so it doesn't matter whether you use static pages from a HTML editing tool or a content management system. As long as the Website Optimizer tags are included when a visitor's browser render the page, the experiment will work. Specifically, if you're using a CMS, there are two common implementations.
The first, and easier, option is to do an A/B test in which you create an alternate version of an existing page (your original page). To this, you'll need to insert HTML snippets into the top and bottom of the original and bottoms of the alternate and goal pages; if your CMS lets you do this, you should be fine.
The second, more advanced implementation is doing a multivariate test in which you insert the Website Optimizer tags into a CMS template. This is helpful if you want to test a global change such as a Buy Now button, since all pages running off of that template will be included in the experiment."
I inserted the code at the top and bottom of each page that I want to test but it cannot validate the code in the pages, probably because even though I put it at the top and bottom of each page, when you access the site the code ends up in a table down the page somewhere. Any pages that you create are placed in a table in the middle of the template of the site, right? I don't think inserting the code in the template will work because you need different code for the ywo different pages you want to test as well as the "goal"page, which would be the "thank you for signing up" page.
Has anybody had any success in using website optimizer with Memberspeed?
Thank you
