Interesting timing for your post. I just logged on today looking for the same info. Hopefully we'll have version 2.03 soon.

New information today…
"Version 2.03 is on its way! Expected release date is tentative at this point but we are aiming for a mid August release."
With this major update coming out what is the best move concerning setting up brand new sites? Should I just go ahead with the current version and then update whenever the new release is available – or better to wait another month or so and set up the new sites with 2.03?
Thanks

I would say if setting up new sites mean more money for you NOW, go ahead and do that as there is no reason to lose out on the extra money. If setting them up to launch at a later date, therefore no plans to capitalize on them now, there is no point for the extra work and I would wait. Hope that helps. Keep in mind, I do not know all your details, so this may not be the best advice. Take that into consideration.

Any news on the 2.03 release release date please?
Mid-august is only 9/10 days away, so….
I want to set up 2 or 3 new sites but am hanging back so as to get the new version.
Thanks. DCL

The next release is a major and it was announced as a *tentative* mid-August release. Please know testing and tweaking must be complete before new releases can be open for us members to download.
Personally, I would go ahead and complete 1 or your 2 to 3 sites first. Depending on how much work's involved with your first site, the new release should be out and you could simply download the update files to bring the current version to the newest one.
We always get the option to download (smaller) update files to bring our current (older) versions up to speed with the latest version, or (naturally) the full version for fresh installs as well.
Hope this helps you with your decision making

Hi Paul,
Many thanks for the guidance.
Hadn't apprecaited that updating was relatively straightforward. Had assumed(!) that a re-install was needed.
Thanks too Nam Tran.

If so what do you think of it?
Have you had any problems?

I have not installed it, but was able to test the shopping cart portion of it. There are alot of minor issues that can make it better, but the most important worth mentioning was the datafeed upload option for physical products. I am biased in this, as I work in retail and got plans to start selling retail online, so this is perhaps the most important feature for an online retailer.
The datafeed upload option gives no flexiblity for you to add scripts to memberspeed to allow it to automatically convert the datafeeds from your suppliers. In otherwords, after you download that datafeed from your suppliers, you must manually convert it to the right file format if not same, as well as to the right format such as the price, description, etc, in the right places. It will not be fun, nor quick, changing terms that mean the same to the term used in the memberspeed datafeed template, and moving them to the right cell. As this is the method used to update stock, as well as add new products and delete discontinued ones, this is likely something I would be doing in a weekly basis, if not more.
Ofcourse, if you store your own product, or sell only digital products, this issue should not be a big deal. It is only a big deal for online retailers that do not wharehouse their own products, or only partly wharehouse some of the products, as they highly depend on constant datafeed updates.
It should be set to either allow us to set our own scripts to make our custom datafeeds work with the website, in example that the scripts would automatically convert our datafeeds to match the template datafeed format, or memberspeed should introduce such a service to do it for us. Personally, I prefer my own programmer creating my script, since I can see how memberspeed would likely charge us much more than it would cost me to get it done. lol
Anyhow, that is my biggest beef with it so far. However, if I am the only online retailer that does not wharehouse all the products, I may be out of luck in getting this issue solved completely. I have to depend on memberspeed allowing this, as its not open source. I have not tried the latest version yet.
