2.03 version: Create a page

Nam Tran Ybarra @ September 13, 2010

One of the most important changes in version 2.03, 2.04 is the way the navigation structured. And one of the benefits is to allow you to use one centralized area on your site to add video, audio & content and drip feed it for your members rather than having  it set up on 3 or 4 different module areas.

Warning: this is powerful: the ablility to  create page in sequence, drip each page based on membership and timed schedule -this will allow you to schedule (drip feed) your  page content from number of days after registration or from a set date. You could  create a years worth of content, schedule it all to release weekly or  monthly to your paid subscribers.

Part 1: Set Navigation Block

Overview:

By default, after the installation, your memberspeed site’s front end will have one main block on the left and /or the right menu with all links underneath. With 2.03, you now can make any new block you want, add link to any block, move and change them any time you want.  This new feature makes it easy to navigate your site content  and best of all it is a snap to do.

Default navigation:  Block’s name : Main Menu with all links underneath

2.03 Navigation with added new blocks

So first Go to navigation>>>> Add Group

Make it ACTIVE.  To change position , edit the RANK number

Part 2: Add a Link category to Group

Now click on Add Link Category>>>Give it a name and assign it to a Group

Key Notes:
———————
a/1 Mark As Home Page: Yes/NO

===> A very nice feature. You can turn any of your pages to HOMEPAGE with 1 click
===> Very useful for split testing, present new offer, ect…

a/2 Mark as welcome page: Yes/NO

==> If you mark yes, this will be the page your members will see right after they logged into their account.

This option will apply to all membership levels.

If you want to have a separate welcome page for each membership level, you can do that in Membership manager module.

b/ Parent Title: leave it at “TOP LEVEL” unless you want it to be a sublink somewhere else.

c/ SLUG: you can leave it blank or use your important keyword.
This is a very powerful SEO feature.

d/ Content type: choose “Static”

e/ Link Display

- If anybody can see it, member or not: select==> Permanent
- If only member can see it: select====> After Login
- If only visitor can see it: select====> before login

f/ Link location: left, right top, bottom or all

g/ Leave category uper/lower content blank. Hit SAVE.

Back to Manage Link Category and make it ACTIVE

Part 3: Create a page: Add page to Link category

Important concept:

+ A Link category belongs to a Group ( Group= navigation block/heading) as described in part 1&2

+ You can add as many pages as you want to a link category.  One page will be a default page and the other pages can be selected to link to the default page to be shown in sequense

+ Group and Link category only be visible on front end if both are active and there is a page attached to a link category

+ Each page can be displayed to a selected membership, on a time set schedule

Click on CREATE PAGE then select a LINK CATEGORY where the page should be assigned to.

Fill in other info as well

Important:  video/audio/product accessible date will overwrite the page accessible date here.

Example: if in video manager, you set a video to be accessible on July 7th, while the page is set to be accessible on June 29th, your user will see this page on June 29th but won’t see the video until July 7th.

Add as many pages you want, then click on  MANAGE LIST PAGES

Here is how it shows on site:

The On-page factors are ALL there. You just need to take care with your titles and meta-descriptions. Simply go to Google an type in site:www.yourdomain.com to see how effective you are at getting indexed for what you want. To get ranked, simply attract as many links back into as many of these pages as you can from quality sites. OR set up a blog like mine and start controlling your own internal links which also carry a degree of Google juice!
